Animation tip

I noticed if you blur your eyes, or concentrate on something off the monitor while you view your playblast, it helps you to see anything wrong on screen. I don't know if this is just me, but I find I pick up details, or perhaps a pose that is just hideous by not concentrating on it. Give it a shot! I'd like to know I'm not crazy.

  1. Hey Jordan, I did a project years ago about how we see things and perceive things physically with our eyes. It seems that peripheral vision does exactly what you mentioned here. We often see or perceive things differently when we don't stare directly at them. Another good trick is to use a mirror to view your artwork. By flipping it into the reverse image flaws in composition will be revealed to you.

  2. Neat! I've heard of the mirrored animation technique from a Starz animator too! It's an industry secret, haha.
